WHAT WE TEACH

Unlike many traditional apprenticeships, we take a more structured, educational approach. You will be required to complete tasks such as chore lists, written tests, reading assignments, and projects. Our focus is not only on teaching you how to tattoo but also on helping you establish your own business. As a tattoo artist, you are responsible for your work—this includes promoting your services, creating your own brand, and managing your business. 

What will I Learn?

With two tattoo mentors at your side, you will learn many tattooing techniques as well as how to create a business, maintain social media, file taxes as an independent contractor, how to open a tattoo shop, learn programs like Wix, Procreate, and Square, Texas Tattoo Laws, ect.

WHAT AGE DO YOU HIRE?

You must be 18+ to work at our tattoo studio.

What do I need?

We look for dedicated artists that can put as much time and work at our Studio as they can. We recommend a part-time job as you work alongside at our studio. We will help you start off but you will need to purchase a few things to get the ball rolling! See list below for Studio Supplies.

What do we look for?

We look for someone that will best fit our studio based on your scheduling and art experience. Depa, Mickey, & Kat will do a group interview to see if you'll be a good fit!

How Long is an Apprenticeship?

A tattoo apprenticeship varies based off of a few factors. How fast you pick up the medium, how much time can you spend at the studio, your dedication to learning how to tattoo. On average the program is about 1 year but can take longer. 

How many apprentices in the studio?

We only hire ONE apprentice. We want to guarantee you are getting 100% of our care and attention. We have limited space in our studio too and decided it's best to only have one apprentice at a time.

  • Pens/Pencils

  • Spiral Notebook for notetaking and tracing

  • Ipad or drawing tablet 

  • Procreate (or other digital art platform)

  • Tattoo Machine Covers

  • Tattoo Needles (9RL,5RS,9CM for starters)

  • Gloves (The studio only supplies size small)

  • Tattoo Tray 

  • Tattoo Ink

  • Stencil Solution

  • Spray bottles for alcohol and madacide

  • Long Neck Squeeze bottles for green soap, witch hazel, distilled water

  • Tattoo Machine 

IS THIS THE STUDIO FOR YOU?

It is important that you know how our apprenticeship works. We will teach you everything you need to become a successful tattoo artist. We do not guarantee a place for you to stay after your apprenticeship. Our goal is to teach as many dedicated artists, therefore we do not have the room to keep every tattoo artist. We will ensure you will be ready to go off on your own after your apprenticeship. We like to think of our apprenticeship program as a trade school. You will come to learn, graduate, and then take your knowledge into your own profession!
